Once qualified, your professional learning is supported through further qualification or other training and development interventions

I joined Rawlinson & Hunter from a Big4 firm as a newly qualified CTA tax specialist. The feedback I have been given has been hugely supportive in terms of helping me progress through the firm and I now work at Senior Manager level. As well as managing a challenging client portfolio, I am the Departmental Manager for the London Private Client Tax team, working alongside the Departmental Partner to support all staff in the department to be the best that they can be.

I joined the firm immediately after studying for my A levels, initially studying for the AAT and then the ACA qualification. I was delighted to be invited to join the partnership in 2014. My particular area of interest is supporting charities.

Kajal Patel

I joined the Property Tax team at Rawlinson & Hunter as a researcher after completing a Mathematics Degree. The variety of experiences I have gained have strengthened my interest in Tax and I have now transferred to Private Client Tax where the firm are supporting me in studying the ACA qualification.

Tom Goodier

I was promoted to Team Leader immediately after I qualified in Audit and in this role I was given the opportunity to support the new students coming through, but my own development continued; I was able to select technical training courses in areas which really interested me as well as attending numerous soft skill courses to help develop my own management skills and I am now a Manager, working on the planning and design of audits and supporting and reviewing the work of the on-site teams.

I joined Rawlinson & Hunter as an ACA Student following the Audit route. After I qualified I transferred to work in the Corporate Tax group where the firm supported me in studying for the CTA qualification. I was promoted to Manager shortly after completing my CTA training and have since achieved Senior Manager status.

Rahul Desai

I joined the Trust and Wealth Services team at Rawlinson & Hunter as an ATT qualified tax specialist.  Since joining I have found that the firm has been supportive in allowing me to develop my technical skills by providing me with opportunities to take on a wide variety of challenging technical tasks with support from the team at all levels as well as supporting me to study for the CTA qualification.

I originally joined Rawlinson & Hunter as an Audit Manager, before moving into the outsourcing team. I now undertake a dual role providing a full outsourcing accounting function to a broad range of clients as well as heading up the Client Payroll team. I was delighted to have my contribution recognised and rewarded with a promotion to Director.

After completing my A levels I was not convinced that I wanted to spend three years at university, although I knew that I wanted a career in accountancy. Rawlinson & Hunter offered me the opportunity to join on a non-graduate programme, initially studying the AAT qualification and then the ACA qualification. The firm is currently supporting me through the CTA examinations.

Studying and working at the same time was tough, but the support I received from the firm helped me to keep on track. In terms of my career I am now operating as an Assistant Manager and am slightly ahead of where I would have been if I had been to university, but without the student debt!
